A blend of: 

~ Comfrey - a superb healing herb, and a wonderful all-rounder for gastric ulcers as it has analgesic, demulcent, anti-inflamatory and antiulcerogenic properties.

~ Marshmallow - an old-time soothing herb for gastrointestinal disorders and strengthening of the digestive system, high in mucilage so very soothing to the membranes, and containing polysaccharides that form a protective layer on the stomach lining which lowers stomach acids, and contains salicylic acid (the natural forerunner of synthetic aspirin), so helps to relieve pain and discomfort.

~  Liquorice Root - both anti-inflammatory and antiulcerogenic, liquorice is a wonderful support to soothes the mucous membranes and protect the stomach and intestines, allowing ulcers to heal more quickly.

~ Meadowsweet - known for its relief of pain, meadowsweet is also an antacid herb that heals and soothes the digestive tract, strengthens and tones the system, and helps to control ulcers, plus its anti-inflammatory qualities help to soothe and reduce inflammation.

~ Neem Leaf - scientific evidence shows that neem extract taken orally provides significant reductions in acid output and gastric fluid activity, and its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties relieving the ulcerative symptoms.

~ Chamomile - an excellent calming stomach aid, both anti-inflammatory and analgesic, especially valuable where anxiety and tension produce digestive symptoms.

~ Psyllium - an excellent digestive tonic, its high level of mucilage makes it extremely soothing for the inflamed mucous membranes of the stomach and helps to regulate bacteria in the intestine.

Feed: 15-30g daily / 1-2 50ml scoops for 1 month on, then 2 weeks off. Reassess and if necessary, feed for another month.

Contraindications: Supplements of any kind should be fed with caution to the pregnant mare so always seek veterinary advice.  If feeding herbal supplements on a continuous basis, it is recommended to take a break during the course, i.e. one week in five, or one day a week.
