Overview
Formulated for optimal absorption and bioavailability, these advanced nutrients support connective tissue integrity, smooth joint mechanics, and supple muscle tone - promoting easy, natural movement through every stride.
Glucosamine sulphate provides high-potency glucosamine amino sugar, found in high levels in the surrounding joint fluid. The liver recognises Glucosamine sulphate as the natural version of glucosamine (as opposed to the more commonly used synthetic Glucosamine HCL) and gets into the joints with positive improvement. Glucosamine HCL won't, because try as it might, the liver can’t convert HCL to a sulphate.
L Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in muscle tissue. We formulate our ReFlexa with N-Acetyl L Glutamine because it's the water-soluble form of Glutamine; all digestive enzymes are water-soluble, hence N-Acetyl L Glutamine makes for more efficient digestion and therefore swifter bioavailability (time taken to absorb into the bloodstream).
MSM (methyl-sulfonyl methane) is an organosulfur compound that’s commonly found in fluid around the joints. It’s used by the body as a sulphur donor, and is often combined with glucosamine.
Acetyl L-Carnitine
supports muscle work capacity and loosens muscle tightness.

Is JointReflexa Right for My Horse?
🌿 Ideal for horses who:
- Are showing signs of stiffness, tripping, or reduced flexibility during work or after rest.
- Need nutritional support for stiff joints, flexibility, or ease of movement.
- Are in regular training or competition and require consistent mobility maintenance
- Are recovering from injury or post-laminitic stiffness and need rebuilding nutrients.
⚠️ Not suitable for horses who…
- Are pregnant or nursing mares (precautionary due to amino acid balance).
- Have significant liver or kidney compromise without veterinary oversight.
- Are within 5 days of planned surgery unless advised by a veterinarian (MSM caution).
Which blend - JointReflexa or JSTTonic?
Each one supports different aspects of your horse’s mobility and comfort:
→ JointReflexa- for long-term daily support, comfort, and mobility maintenance. Designed to feed the structure : cartilage, collagen, and connective tissues — supporting healthy joint mechanics and fluid movement.
→ JSTTonic- for deeper, herbal anti-inflammatory support, helping the function side of mobility — easing stiffness, tension, and inflammatory discomfort, particularly during flare-ups or recovery phases.
Composition & Feed Guide
Each ingredient in JointReflexa plays a targeted role in maintaining your horse’s comfort, flexibility, and joint fluidity.
JointReflexa is a nutritional, functional food supplement and not veterinary medicine. See Dr Kellon's Horse Sense - Nutrition is not 'Alternative' Therapy .
Composition Glossary
- Glucosamine Sulphate – A naturally occurring amino sugar found in joint cartilage and synovial fluid. This sulphated form is biologically preferred, supporting the body’s natural repair processes within cartilage and connective tissue. It also helps maintain joint lubrication and flexibility, especially in active or aging horses.
- L-Glutamine – The body’s most abundant amino acid, essential for muscle recovery and gut-lining integrity. The acetylated form enhances stability and absorption, ensuring efficient delivery to muscle and connective tissues where it helps sustain stamina, tissue repair, and overall mobility.
- MSM (Methyl-Sulfonyl Methane) – A naturally occurring sulphur compound that provides a key structural element for collagen synthesis, cartilage resilience, and joint comfort. As a natural sulphur donor, MSM supports connective tissue strength and helps maintain soft tissue flexibility.
- Acetyl L-Carnitine – A bioavailable form of carnitine that fuels muscle metabolism at the cellular level. It supports energy production in the mitochondria, helping to reduce stiffness, enhance muscle recovery, and maintain balanced muscular function around the joints.

Clinical Considerations
Advisories
- Suitable for horses requiring long-term joint and mobility support, or during recovery and conditioning phases.
- Can be safely fed alongside herbal anti-inflammatory blends (e.g. DuoBute , TriBute , or JSTTonic ) for comprehensive musculoskeletal care.
- Allow 2–4 weeks of consistent feeding for optimal tissue uptake and visible results.
- Maintain hydration and balanced mineral intake to support healthy connective tissue function.
- Safe for daily, ongoing use as part of a joint and performance maintenance programme.
Contraindications
- Not recommended for use during pregnancy or lactation (precautionary, due to metabolic influence on amino acid balance).
- Use caution in horses with known kidney or liver compromise - consult your vet before introducing high-protein or sulphur-containing supplements.
- Discontinue at least 5-days prior to surgery unless advised by a veterinarian, as MSM may have mild blood-thinning activity.
