Gas, bloating or a sensitive right-hand side? When your horse’s gut is unsettled, you know it.
Perhaps your horse has become girthy, flinches when you touch their flank, seems uncomfortable after eating, or produces those unmistakably acrid, acidic-smelling droppings.
"Th is product has been a game changer for my horse.” Sue B.
That's where we'd look at SiboCARE - our go-to hindgut blend for gas, bloating and digestive imbalance - particularly when the saem familiar signs keep coming back and everything seems to be reacting to everything else.
Designed to support microbial balance and digestive comfort, SiboCARE helps guide an unsettled gut back towards a calmer, more balanced state.

Overview
Overview
When a horse's hindgut is unhappy, the symptoms rarely stay in the gut.
You'll often see the obvious signs – gas, bloating, sensitivity and changes in droppings – but there may also be mood changes, with your horse becoming more reactive and less tolerant of things they were previously fine about.
These days we know the gut isn't simply a digestive organ – it's home to a vast microbial ecosystem involved in digestion, fermentation, metabolism and normal immune function.
When that ecosystem becomes disrupted, the effects can ripple far beyond the digestive tract itself.
That's why supporting microbial balance is the first place we look when a horse seems to be reacting to everything.
Is SiboCARE right for your horse?
Is this your horse?
✔ Gas, bloating, or obvious abdominal discomfort
✔ Right-hand-side sensitivity or flinching when touched
✔ Girthiness, cow-kicking, or resistance during tacking up
✔ Acrid, acidic, or unusually pungent droppings
✔ Gut reactions triggered by grass flushes, haylage, or feed changes
✔ Behaviour changes that seem to follow digestive upset – grumpy, tight, spooky, or reactive
✔ Digestive disruption following antibiotics, stress, illness, or dietary change
In short: if your horse's hindgut feels unstable and reactive, SiboCARE is where we'd start.
Layering support
If faecal water/leaky gut is part of the picture
- If the digestive upset settles but the gut lining needs additional nutritional support, GutAminos may be useful.
- If you're seeing a more complicated picture where hindgut imbalance, faecal water and intestinal lining support overlap, LeakyGutCOMBO brings SiboCARE, GutAminos and Spirulina together.
- And if the same problems keep returning despite addressing the obvious triggers, that's when we'd stop repeatedly firefighting individual flare-ups and look at the full Hindgut Reset Programme .
The foundations
Plenty of appropriate forage and fibre, sensible grass management, and a diet that suits the individual horse all help support a healthy hindgut.
Supporting your horse's baseline nutrition with a forage-based mineral blend such as EquiVita or VitaComplete helps provide the nutritional foundations those tissues and systems rely upon every day.
*If you're not already feeding a mineral balancer, try one of our 1kg trial bags to start with.

Energetics - how SiboCARE works
If you want the science, 'energetic architecture' explains how a blend is designed to work across the body's interconnected systems – not just which herbs are included, but how they interact to create a specific effect.
SiboCARE is built around a simple idea: when the hindgut environment becomes unsettled, don't just chase the gas and bloating – look at the environment creating them.
How the formula works
- Shifting the microbial environment - Andrographis, Barberry and Pau d'Arco form the more assertive side of SiboCARE, traditionally used to support healthy microbial balance when the intestinal environment has become disrupted.
- Looking after the gut while the balance shifts - And this is where Marshmallow Root, Comfrey and Meadowsweet really earn their place. They bring the soothing, tissue-supporting side of the formula, helping maintain digestive comfort and the intestinal environment while the 'action' herbs get on with their job.
- Keeping things moving - Psyllium brings soluble fibre and supports normal intestinal transit, complementing the wider formula as the gut clears its everyday contents and settles towards a more normal rhythm.
Big picture
SiboCARE isn't really about gas, bloating or a sensitive right-hand side.
Those are the clues that brought us here, but its real job is to support the hindgut environment underneath them – microbial balance, digestive comfort and normal intestinal function working together.
Change the neighbourhood, look after the gut while you do it, then give everything a better chance to settle back in.

FAQs
How do I know if SiboCARE is where I should start?
Think gassy, bloated, sensitive, reactive - and usually very different poo, sometimes incredibly stinky.
That's the sort of hindgut picture where we'd look at SiboCARE.
How long should I feed SiboCARE?
We recommend a full 1-month course, then assess.
A horse with a longer-standing or repeatedly unsettled hindgut may need longer, but we wouldn't automatically turn it into a permanent daily supplement.
The aim is to support the microbial environment long enough for things to become calmer, steadier and less reactive, then reassess the horse standing in front of you.
What's the difference between SiboCARE and LeakyGutCOMBO?
Think hindgut imbalance versus hindgut imbalance plus leaky gut/faecal water.
SiboCARE is where we'd start when gas, bloating, sensitivity and digestive instability point primarily towards an unsettled microbial environment.
LeakyGutCOMBO combines SiboCARE with GutAminos and Spirulina, so it makes more sense where that same hindgut picture sits alongside faecal water or a greater need for intestinal-lining support.
Can I feed SiboCARE with DuoBute?
Yes – and there are times when the two make a very useful pairing.
SiboCARE works on the hindgut environment underneath the problem, while DuoBute can provide additional herbal comfort support where digestive discomfort and sensitivity are part of the picture.
What should I feed after SiboCARE?
Once the gut has settled, we like to think ' maintenance' rather than waiting for the same problems to come back. That's where we'd usually look at BiomeTonic and WildFed.
- BiomeTonic is our long-term microbiome maintenance blend – helping support the intestinal environment you've worked hard to steady.
- WildFed comes at it from another angle, bringing natural plant diversity back into the diet with varied leaves, barks and fibres that help nourish the beneficial microbes already living there.
They work beautifully together: BiomeTonic helps look after the neighbourhood; WildFed helps feed its residents.
Reset when necessary, then look after the gut you've just worked so hard to settle.
What if the same gas, bloating or sensitivity keeps coming back?
That's when we look deeper into why the hindgut keeps becoming unsettled, and l ook at the wider picture – forage, grass changes, haylage, feed, stress, medication history and anything else that seems to precede the flare-ups.
- If you're seeing a more complicated picture where hindgut imbalance, faecal water and intestinal lining support overlap, have a look at LeakyGutCOMBO.
- And if the same problems keep returning despite addressing the obvious triggers, that's when we'd stop repeatedly firefighting individual flare-ups and look at the full Hindgut Reset Programme.
