ESSENTIALAMINOS 🍂NOVEMBER'S 20% SALE *Protein-powered, muscle-mobilising, recovery-supporting

Fuel your horse’s cellular energy and muscle resilience with EssentialAminos - a complete spectrum of the nine essential amino acids that the body can’t make on its own.
This pure, highly bioavailable blend provides the key building blocks for muscle-mobilising strength, protein renewal, and post-exercise recovery, helping maintain vitality through every phase of training, healing, or age.
Especially beneficial for older horses, those in work, underweight, or on low-protein forage such as steamed hay.

Overview
Amino acids are the molecular foundation of protein - the core structural and functional component of every cell, tissue, and enzyme in the body. For horses, they’re especially vital for maintaining muscle tone, supporting repair after exercise or illness, and sustaining energy metabolism.
However, certain amino acids can't be synthesised by the body, and while most amino acids are available in most forages, additional supplementation may be required, i.e.
- Following injury/coming back into work.
- If a horse is struggling to hold weight, or on a refeeding programme following illness.
- When supporting an intensive training programme.
- Replenishing lost crude protein when steaming hay.
Meanwhile, modern feeding routines, low-protein forage, or increased physical demands can all tip the balance, leaving horses short of these key nutrients. Supplementing with a complete essential amino acid profile helps bridge that gap - ensuring the body has everything it needs to rebuild, recover, and stay strong from within.
From performance horses in full work to older horses rebuilding condition, EssentialAminos provides clean, efficient protein nutrition for sustained cellular vitality - the natural way.

Fussy Eater?

Clinical Considerations
Advisories
- Generally recognised as safe and well tolerated in horses when used within the recommended range.
- Ensure adequate water intake, as amino acid metabolism naturally increases nitrogen excretion via the kidneys.
Contraindications
- No known contraindications at standard nutritional levels.
- Not a replacement for adequate forage or dietary protein sources; should be used to complement a balanced ration.
- Use caution in horses with severe renal impairment, as amino acid metabolism increases urea load.
- Theoretically, concurrent feeding with medications affecting protein metabolism (e.g. corticosteroids or anabolic agents) could influence amino acid utilisation, though no adverse interactions have been identified.
