✨
“B12-Balance has been a lifesaver for my older horse - his energy is up, his appetite is back, and he’s happier overall."

Overview
Horses are remarkable in that they can produce their own supply of activated vitamin B12 and B6 (P5P) via the fibre-fermenting process in their hindgut. Unlike other B-vitamins, B12 and B6 aren't found in forage, but provided the hindgut biome is in balance, both these essential vitamins in their equine-appropriate activated form are naturally produced.
However, when the gut biome is disrupted causing faulty fibre fermentation - whether due to hindgut dysbiosis, stress, antibiotics, haylage, high-grain/low-forage diets, or age-related digestive decline - B12 and B6 deficiencies can occur, impacting the horse’s health and performance.
Our natural and completely non-synthetic, plant-based B12-Balance, is formulated to help support optimal B12 levels, especially in times of increased need or gut imbalance, promoting overall wellbeing and metabolic function.

Is B12-Balance Right for My Horse?
🌿 Ideal for horses who…
- Show low energy, dullness, or reduced stamina, especially after illness, stress, or antibiotic use.
- Are older, in hard work, or recovering from digestive disruption that may impair hindgut fermentation.
- Have poor appetite, weight loss, or a flat demeanour despite good nutrition.
- Are on restricted forage or haylage-based diets, which can alter microbial balance and B-vitamin synthesis.
⚠️ Not suitable for horses who…
- Are currently on iodine-restricted diets or prescribed thyroid medications (due to the Bladderwrack content).
- Have known sensitivities to seaweed or high-iodine ingredients.
- Are pregnant or nursing mares without prior veterinary approval.

Advisories
- Suitable for long-term use when fed at the recommended rate, though a 4–6 week course followed by a short break allows natural equilibrium and prevents nutrient oversupply.
- Contains Bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus) — a natural source of iodine; ensure the horse is not already receiving additional iodine from feeds, balancers, or supplements.
- Introduce gradually, particularly in horses unused to seaweed ingredients or sensitive to mineral-rich herbs.
Contraindications
- Not suitable for pregnant or nursing mares without prior veterinary approval.
- Avoid in horses on iodine-restricted diets or prescribed thyroid medication(e.g. levothyroxine or carbimazole).
- Do not combine with other seaweed or kelp-based supplements to prevent excess iodine intake.
Potential Drug Interactions
- Iodine content may interact with thyroid-regulating medication by altering thyroid hormone synthesis or metabolism.
- No other clinically significant interactions have been documented in equine use.
