Overview
Leaky gut is caused by long-term dysbiosis in the microbiome, aka SIBO ( Small Intestinal Bacterial Overload ), meaning the pro-inflammatory gut bacteria have now taken hold. These include the now recognised Archaea strand, which is also showing resistance to the majority of commonly used antibiotics.
Human health studies now show that the microbiome as a whole rarely recovers from an 'antibiotic' assault. A botanical approach is less aggressive and has also been shown to be as effective as pharmaceutical antibiotics in clinical trials for SIBO treatment.
