Product Details

Help your horse breathe easier with BreathePlus, a powerful organic supplement formulated for respiratory resilience support - comfortable breathing and a healthier respiratory system.

Each herb in BreathePlus plays a vital role in supporting the equine respiratory and immune systems, combining anti-inflammatory, expectorant, immune-modulatory, and soothing demulcent actions.

Together, these botanicals help maintain clear, comfortable airways, and strengthen the body’s natural resilience against environmental allergens - promoting calm, easy breathing from within.

“Breathing is massively improved - no more wheezing.”

Overview

Experiencing respiratory irritations can cause real misery for horses. In their domestic environment, the equine respiratory system is constantly challenged by numerous allergens such as stable dust, school surfaces, bedding, and feed, often exacerbated by autoimmune syndromes.

BreathePlus is specifically formulated to help manage these challenges, combining natural ingredients to reduce respiratory distress, clear airways, and provide ongoing immune support. By addressing both symptoms and underlying triggers, BreathePlus helps your horse feel more comfortable and resilient, even in allergen-heavy environments.

For the latest insights on equine respiratory health, see our A-Z Equine Condition/Respiration page in our Advice Centre above.

Is BreathePlus Right for My Horse?

Functional Fit – where BreathePlus belongs in respiratory support

BreathePlus is designed for ongoing respiratory and airway support where breathing challenges are chronic, recurring, or environmentally driven, rather than short-lived or purely seasonal.

It supports the lungs, airways, and immune system together - helping maintain clearer breathing, calmer airway responses, and stronger respiratory resilience over time.

BreathePlus is the right choice when your horse struggles to breathe comfortably in dusty, stable-based, or allergen-heavy environments, or when airway sensitivity has become a long-term pattern rather than a brief flare-up.

→ BreathePlus is:

  • for chronic or recurring respiratory sensitivity
  • for horses prone to wheezing, coughing, heave lines, or breathing effort
  • for dust, bedding, arena, or stable-related airway challenges
  • for immune–airway support where inflammation and irritation persist
  • for strengthening respiratory comfort alongside good management

→ BreathePlus is not:

  • a short-term pollen or histamine-only solution
  • a replacement for veterinary treatment in active infection
  • a seasonal “spring-only” allergy supplement

Which blend — BreathePlus, PollenTonic, or PollenCOMBO?

Each supports breathing in a different way, depending on what’s driving the issue :

→ BreathePlus

Chronic airway support | Lung comfort | Long-term respiratory resilience

Best when breathing issues are ongoing, dust-related, or linked to deeper airway sensitivity rather than simple pollen exposure.

→ PollenTonic

Histamine moderation | Mild seasonal allergy support

Best for light to moderate spring pollen reactions - itchy eyes, nose rubbing, mild headshaking - without deeper chest involvement.

→ PollenCOMBO

Allergy + airway support | Seasonal escalation

Best when pollen reactions become stronger or start to affect breathing, combining immune, airway, and respiratory comfort support.

Quick guide — when to choose which?

IF YOUR HORSE… BEST CHOICE
Wheezes, coughs, or struggles in dusty environments BreathePlus
Has chronic or recurring breathing discomfort BreathePlus
Shows heave lines or breathing effort BreathePlus
Has mild spring pollen irritation (eyes, nose, itch) PollenTonic
Has stronger pollen reactions affecting breathing PollenCOMBO
Starts seasonal but worsens into chronic airway issues BreathePlus

Composition & Feed Guide

Each herb in BreathePlus plays a vital role in supporting the equine respiratory and immune systems, combining anti-inflammatory, expectorant, immune-modulatory, and soothing demulcent actions.

Composition Glossary

  1. Astragalus membranaceus – A renowned adaptogen and immune modulator that supports respiratory resilience by helping regulate immune overreaction to allergens, promoting stamina and systemic balance.
  2. Echinacea purpurea – Traditionally used to support immune defences and mucosal health. Helps maintain upper-respiratory integrity and fortify the body’s natural response to environmental challenges.
  3. Inula helenium – A classic respiratory herb valued for its expectorant and soothing actions, especially asthma-type symptoms. Its volatile oils help maintain clear bronchi and calm irritation in the lower airways.
  4. Euphrasia officinalis – Traditionally used for upper-respiratory comfort and mucous-membrane tone with a particular affinity for eye and sinus health. Helps maintain clarity and soothe irritation linked to pollen or dust sensitivity.
  5. Ginkgo biloba – Enhances peripheral and pulmonary circulation, helping oxygen reach tissues efficiently. Supports steady breathing and respiratory recovery, particularly in chronically stressed lungs.
  6. Glycyrrhiza glabra – A gentle adaptogenic demulcent that soothes airway linings and supports adrenal balance. Its natural glycyrrhizin content promotes mucosal comfort and synergises with other herbs in the blend.
  7. Althaea officinalis radix – Rich in mucilage to coat and comfort inflamed airways. Helps maintain smooth airflow and reduces irritation from dryness or coughing.
  8. Verbascum thapsus – A time-honoured herb for clear, healthy lungs. Its expectorant and emollient qualities help maintain easy respiration and a calm, soothed chest.
  9. Achillea millefolium – A renowned anti-allergenic and circulatory tonic that helps maintain normal mucous flow and vascular tone within the respiratory tract. Also contributes to systemic balance during seasonal transitions.

Fussy Eater?

Horses sometimes have their own opinions (and strong tastebuds!), so now and then a new blend might need a little extra encouragement. This doesn’t reflect the quality or efficacy of the product, but rather their natural instinct towards new flavours.

Clinical Considerations

Advisories

  • Feed as a minimum 1-month course.
  • New to BreathePlus? Start slow, a pinch at a time, slowly building up to the RDA.
  • If already using other Liquorice-containing products, review total intake to avoid excessive Glycyrrhizin exposure.
  • Seek veterinary advice before use alongside prescribed medications affecting the liver, kidneys, or immune system.
  • Feed as part of a broader management plan - addressing environmental allergens (dust, bedding, feed quality) will enhance results.

Contraindications

  • Pregnant or nursing mares – not suitable without veterinary oversight, due to hormonally active and circulatory herbs ( Yarrow, Liquorice ).
  • Do not combine with steroid medications(e.g. dexamethasone , prednisolone , inhalers) unless under veterinary supervision — Liquorice Root may prolong steroid activity and alter metabolism.
