“He’s gone from strength to strength - even galloping and bucking again!”

Overview

Skin or lung issues, coat-change time, or following a gut regeneration programme?

The three vital detox amigos - the liver, kidneys and lymphatics - are the body's own natural and sophisticated detoxification and filtration organs, and they play a crucial role in maintaining overall health. Periodic cleansing helps keep them functioning optimally.

LKLCARE is a safe, gentle, and highly effective liver–kidney–lymph support blend for horses needing metabolic clarity, coat-change support, skin help, or post-gut-reset detox balance.

For the latest insights and updates, see our main A-Z Condition pages in the Advice Centre above: Liver&Kidneys , Coat & Skin , KPU , Mallenders/Sallenders

Is LKLCARE Right for My Horse?

🌿 Ideal for horses who…

  • Are going through seasonal coat change and seem slow to shed, a bit dull, or “stuck” in their old coat.
  • Struggle with recurring skin issues – sweet itch tendencies, hives, mallenders/sallenders, mud fever patterns, or unexplained itchiness.
  • Have metabolic challenges(EMS/IR, laminitic history) and need gentle, ongoing detox support alongside diet and management.
  • Have recently completed a gut reset(e.g. SiboCARE, LeakyGutCOMBO, KPUCOMBO, Hindgut Reset) and now need the liver–kidney–lymph axis supported to clear residues.
  • Seem a bit stagnant or “toxic-tired” – low sparkle, easily overwhelmed, or slow to bounce back after stress, illness, or heavy medication.
  • Are older horses who benefit from regular, gentle support for detox organs to stay comfortable, mobile, and bright-eyed.

If your horse feels a little “congested” – in their skin, legs, energy, or overall sparkle – LKLCARE offers a safe, structured way to support the body’s own filtration and clearing systems.

⚠️ Not suitable for horses who…

  • Are pregnant or nursing, due to active cleansing and circulatory botanicals.
  • Have diagnosed kidney disease or acute renal compromise, unless under direct veterinary supervision, as some herbs have mild diuretic effects.
  • Are on anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications, where additional circulatory herbs (e.g. Hawthorn, Nettle) may not be appropriate without vet guidance.

Which blend - LKLCARE or LiverCARE?

Each serves a distinct purpose:

LKLCARE - Your all-round liver–kidney–lymph support blend. Ideal for coat change, skin issues, metabolic sensitivity, or post-gut-reset detox balance. The everyday choice for keeping the whole detox pathway moving smoothly..

LiverCARE - A liver-focused herbal tonic. Perfect when you specifically want to target hepatic support - for horses on long-term medication, those needing clearer liver enzyme readings, or during a structured seasonal liver cleanse.

If your horse is showing a mix of skin flare-ups, coat-change struggles, sluggish lymph flow, or metabolic “fog,” LKLCARE is the place to start.

Fussy eater?

Horses sometimes have their own opinions (and strong tastebuds!), so now and then a new blend might need a little extra encouragement. This doesn’t reflect the quality or efficacy of the product, but rather their natural instinct towards new flavours.

Clinical Considerations

Advisories

  • A gentle, functional detox-support blend designed to nourish the liver, kidneys, and lymphatics. Suitable for most horses when fed at the recommended rate.
  • Ensure ad-lib forage and good hydration, as kidney- and lymph-support herbs work best when the horse can drink freely and urinate normally.
  • Some herbs in the blend (e.g. Nettle , Dandelion Leaf , Burdock ) have natural diuretic or fluid-shifting properties. Monitor hydration and salt intake during hot weather, heavy work, or travel.
  • LKLCARE can be fed short-term (e.g. seasonal detox, coat change, after gut support) or long-term as part of a maintenance routine.
  • For horses on chronic NSAIDs, antibiotics, or long-term medications, professional guidance is recommended to ensure liver load is appropriately supported.

Contraindications

  • Not suitable for pregnant or nursing mares, due to the inclusion of active cleansing and circulatory botanicals.
  • Avoid in horses with acute renal insufficiency or diagnosed kidney disease, unless under direct veterinary supervision, due to the diuretic action of several herbs.
  • Caution in horses on anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications, as herbs like Hawthorn and Nettle may mildly influence blood flow or clotting dynamics.
  • Not advised for horses undergoing aggressive pharmacological liver treatment unless discussed with the attending vet.
